Funding Advice

Suffolk ACRE is licensed to use the services and database of Grantfinder, which has details of many hundreds of Charitable Trusts and other funders who may be interested in supporting your work.

Completing and returning the Funding Advice Form (link below) gives us the information needed to complete a funding search and results in a summary sheet listing the names of potential funders for your project, followed by a number of pages for each funder giving much more detail about the support they may be able to provide.

Although the volume of enquiries we receive means that we are unable to assist with completing individual applications, we are happy to try to answer general questions you may have regarding the application process.

For further information on the Funding Advice Service or to have a funding search completed please contact 01473 242500 or email fundingadvice@suffolkacre.org.uk

New COMMA Funding Available!

National ACRE has announced the launch of this year's COMMA fund to support projects in communities affected by quarrying. Eligible community groups in Suffolk can apply for up to £20,000 of this funding through Suffolk ACRE to support community projects and amenities. ACRE is delivering the grants on behalf of DEFRA, funded by the Aggregates Levy on quarries.

Almost any community activity can be supported. If your community is within 10km of a quarry it is likely you will qualify. This is a fantastic opportunity to get the support you need to make a difference in your community, and we would like as many Suffolk groups as possible to benefit from this new round of funding™.

Five conditions must be satisfied for a project to be eligible for funding:

-          the community where the project is based is or has been affected by aggregates extraction or transport of aggregates
-          the proposed project is within 10km of an aggregates extraction site, either current or disused
-          the project must benefit the whole community or a section of the community, not an individual
-          the applicant must be a community organisation, a charity or a Parish Council
-          all project works funded by COMMA grants this year must be capable of completion by the end of 31st March 2010

Applications need to be made through Suffolk ACRE, and completed applications must be received by 5th June 2009 in order to be considered for this years Funding.
