Opportunities to join Heritage Lottery Fund Committee for East of England
October 26th, 2009Heritage is about much more than the past
Help shape Britain's heritage future
We are now seeking to appoint a Committee Chair and a Member. As a Chair, you will guide meetings where Committee Members make decisions on grants applications between £50,000 and £1 million. In the past year, the Committee's awards have included development support for projects such as redevelopments at both Peterborough and Bedford Museums, conservation and community engagement at Finchingfield Guildhall, and significant visitor improvements at Minsmere Nature Reserve and St Benet's Abbey.
The Committee also provides a crucial regional perspective to the HLF Board on larger grants and on the funding priorities for the East of England. Chair and Members will also meet people involved in ‘making heritage happen’, represent HLF at openings and events and be expected to be an advocate for the value of heritage to modern life in the East of England.
We welcome interest from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences who can demonstrate they can apply their skills to, and have enthusiasm for, the role.
Applications are particularly welcome from people with knowledge of Thames Gateway, Luton or Peterborough, skills in economic or social regeneration and experience of working with black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. We also encourage applications from young people who are currently under represented on the Committee. Candidates should be able to demonstrate an affinity with the East of England’s diverse heritage.
If you would like further information about the vacancies, or wish to apply, then visit www.hlf.org.uk or email decisionmakers@hlf.org.uk or telephone 020 7591 6014.
