Cycle Suffolk Lead Rider Training – British Cycling Level 2 Lead Rider Qualification

Cycle Suffolk are working with British Cycling to deliver two Level 2 Lead Rider training courses in Suffolk.

The award is aimed at people looking to lead groups of cyclists for leisurely and club rides. The knowledge gained from this award will allow you to develop an understanding of safe, ethical and effective leading. The certificate qualifies you to independently plan, deliver and evaluate rides to children and adults in any environment. The award focuses on producing a competent leader who can promote the benefits and joy of cycling. The role of the lead rider is vital in ensuring that everyone involved in cycling has a positive and enjoyable experience, therefore contributing to the ongoing future success of cycling.

The course is a two day course and will focus on the following:

Introduction to safe leading

Prepare to deliver rides

Deliver and review rides

Leading rides

Route planning and navigation

 

Cycle Suffolk have arranged for the courses to be delivered on two dates and in two different areas of the county:

17thand 18thJuly – Bury St Edmunds

24thand 25thJuly – Woodbridge

The maximum number of candidates on each course is 10 so please register your interest early to avoid disappointment.

The course is fully funded by Cycle Suffolk so it is free for you to take part, all we ask in return is that you pay a £50 deposit that will be fully refunded if you lead 15 Cycle Suffolk Lead Rides of your choice.
