Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

Special offer for all organisations using Suffolk ACRE’s insurance scheme - 10% Discount.

If members of the public regularly hire or use your building you have a duty to keep them safe. There are a number of legal requirements and statutes as well as guidelines from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) on this matter. Failure to take reasonable steps to protect the public while they are using your building could result in legal prosecution.

Health & Safety, ISO and Quality standards require that electrical testing is carried out on a regular basis, to minimise the risk of fire or injury. A portable appliance can be defined as any electrical device which can be unplugged and moved (e.g. kettle, fridge, vacuum cleaner, floor polisher, extension cable etc).

Suffolk ACRE has a professional team of electrical testers who can offer a testing service to clients and members. The cost depends on the number of items, but with discount can be as low as £1.53 +VAT per appliance or £0.90 + VAT per lead or cable (plus travel costs).

Suffolk ACRE's PAT Testing Team

There are many companies offering this service. We aim to be both competitive and professional in this market. Our PAT team is dedicated to maintaining Suffolk ACRE’s core values of helping people and communities. If you are thinking of having some electrical testing work and would like a detailed quotation, or even just to discuss any aspect of electrical testing please contact Robert Horn on 01473 242559 or e-mail: robert.horn@suffolkacre.org.uk

Above all, please make sure that you and those around you are safe.
