Employment and Training Unit (EaT)

The Employment and Training Team supports individuals in gaining important life skills. Suffolk ACRE is a City and Guilds accredited centre enabling us to offer formal qualifications in adult Literacy and Numeracy.  Learning takes place in small friendly groups within informal environments.  We have recently successfully completed a numeracy course at Easton Primary School and are running more courses for parents within other schools over the next few months.   

Suffolk ACRE also offer Skills for Jobs courses which cover the soft skills needed to help with gaining employment.  These courses help people enhance their skills and confidence helping to re-enter the labour market.  Support is also offered on completion of the course to help with finding employment whether it is paid or voluntary work.

The Employment and Training Team is staffed by qualified FE/Skills for Life tutors who between them have a wealth of experience in supporting hard to reach and disadvantaged learners. Current courses are being held in a variety of places out in the community as well as at our new ‘Bright Space’ premises.  We also work with a number of local employers in teaching Skills for Life to staff.
