Suffolk ACRE's Training Programme 2012

The programme is supported by the BIG Lottery which enables us to offer these valuable courses at a considerably reduced rate for start-ups, existing charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises based in Suffolk. 

For private or public sector organisations the full fee per person is £85 plus vat for full day courses and £50 plus vat for the half day, which still represents excellent value for high quality training.  Book on all four courses and  receive a further discount.

This course is suitable for individuals and/or organisations that need to write a realistic, functional and useful business plan.  Participants will be guided through why a business plan is needed and what it should contain: eg Marketing strategy, financial projections etc.

Social Enterprises & Taxes Workshop 25th January 10am - 1pm at the Co-op Education Centre, Ipswich

The Guild CIC, a specialist social enterprise business support organisation, has teamed up with HM Revenue and Customs to offer half day introductory workshop on the tax implications of the various types of social enterprise legals structures.

Supported by HMRC, this workshop is aimed at people who are considering setting up a new social enterprise or converting an exisitng organisation (private business or voluntary organisation) into a social enterprise. 

Topics covered will include:

  • Introduction to legal structures
  • What is a social enterprise?
  • Overview of social enterprise legal structures: advantages & disadvantages
  • Corporation tax - an overview
  • Becoming an employer
  • Record keeping and capital allowances
  • An introduction to VAT
