Suffolk Foundation - Suffolk Fund

Corporate Regeneration Fund – Suffolk County Council
The purpose of the Corporate Regeneration Fund (CRF) is to provide a match funding pool of capital funds for organisations throughout Suffolk to draw in a range of external grants. For applications to receive support from the Fund, projects are requested to identify which of the Council’s Suffolk Story priorities your project fits with. The priorities are:
- A strong and dynamic jobs market
- Transform learning and skills in Suffolk
- Protect vulnerable people and reduce inequalities
- Be the greenest county
- Deliver great services at exceptional value

Village Gold
Suffolk Housing Society, supported by a number of its partners has contributed to a pot of money called Village Gold. This is a new community project fund that helps to pay for small projects that help villages to improve their facilities. Transforming Suffolk Community Fund
The Transforming Suffolk Community Fund provides a grants programme for Suffolk’s voluntary and community sector including social enterprise companies and community interest companies, so that they may deliver projects into Suffolk that will work towards delivering the Suffolk Community Strategy 2008-2028.
The Strategy aims to make Suffolk a place where everyone is helped to achieve their full potential, benefit from and contribute to Suffolk’s economic prosperity and be actively involved in their community. The objective is to have achieved this aim by 2028.
Grants of up to £5000 are available with a lower limit of £500.
This Fund has four themes, taken from the Community Strategy:
- Safe, Healthy and Inclusive Communities – to create a place where everyone is safe, healthy and involved no matter who they are or where in the county they live.
- Learning and Skills for the future– to have learning and skill levels in the top quartile in the country.
- Creating a prosperous and vibrant economy – to become the most innovative and diverse economy in the East of England.
- The Greenest County – to be the county with the greenest reduction of carbon emissions.

Transforming Suffolk Innovation Fund
Suffolk County Council are also able to award grants up to a maximum of £50,000, either in a lump sum or over 3 years, for innovative, inspirational and collaborative projects in Suffolk. The project must be a new service or develop a new way of working for an existing service to be delivered/accessed. The main aim of the fund is to engage the community in the project.

Rural Economy Scheme
Funding and support is available from Suffolk ACRE to help to secure grants and provide the business planning and financial guidance to get ten community based and owned businesses off the ground. Working with funding provided by Suffolk County Council and six of the District and Borough Councils in the county, the aim is to support the establishment or expansion of locally owned and run community businesses. Past projects have ranged from community shops, to local markets, and even to a new gym facility for young people.

Suffolk Open Weekend 22-24th July 2011
Open to voluntary and community sector and town and parish councils to apply for a grant up to £500.
It’s an opportunity for local community groups to showcase themselves and inspire others. Grants are available to enable parish or town councils, community groups and groups of individuals across Suffolk to hold small cultural and sporting events to celebrate London 2012 Open Weekend.

The Adnams Charity
The Adnams Charity supports good causes within 25 miles of Southwold. Grants normally range from £100 to £5,000. National charities may apply providing the grant is for use exclusively within the Adnams charity catchment area. Grants are made under the headings of health & social welfare, education, recreation, the arts, buildings/community facilities, history, environment/conservation. Britten-Pears Foundation
The scheme is open to any non commercial organisation operating within a 20 mile radius of Aldeburgh. Grants are awarded on a one-off basis for specific projects, not to cover ongoing running costs. Havebury Housing Partnership – Bright Ideas

Kerrison Trust
The Trust focuses on the relief of children and young persons in the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk in need of care by the provision of housing, counselling and by such other means as the trustees think fit and in or towards the advancement of the education and training of children and young persons qualified as aforesaid. Ganzoni Charitable Trust
The scheme is intended to support charitable organisations undertaking projects for a range of charitable purposes, particularly the relief of poverty and advancement of education. Local Lions Groups
Funding is often available from local Lions groups, contact details can be found at www.lions105ea.com

Foundation East is a democratic organisation controlled by its members who are individuals and organisations. It provides funding for businesses who have been turned down for bank finance despite having a viable business plan. The loans must be less than £50,000 and many are just for a few thousand pounds.
The Society also promotes and facilitates the creation of Community Land Trusts whereby land or buildings are acquiredby a community to meet a local need.
