The aim of the Buzabout service is to give everyone who does not have access to transport within the Shotley Peninsula transport within the Peninsula and beyond. Fares are in line with standard bus fares and the transport is fully accessible for disabled users or users with mobility problems.

  • Supermarket trips into Ipswich are a weekly occurrence and the minibus is driven by a volunteer driver.
  • It is also used by the East Suffolk Association for the Blind on a monthly basis to take people to and from a meeting held in Stutton.
  • It is used weekly by people attending an Over 60’s group in Chelmondiston.
  • It is available for hire to community groups.

Buzabout Bus

  • Wheelchair accessible using a passenger lift.
  • Seating for 10 persons or 2 wheelchairs with fewer seated passengers.

  •  Bookings are taken on a “first come, first served” basis.
  •  Bookings taken up to one week in advance.
  •  Priority, where possible, is given to early morning bookings for those wanting work/school/transport link journeys.
  •  Bookings for hospital visits but not appointments are permitted.

New Vehicle

Early in 2007 the original yellow car wore out after 4 years of hard work and Suffolk County Council supplied a new Fiat Scudo. The colour changed from yellow to deep red but remains a wheelchair accessible vehicle via a ramp and seating up to 5 passengers.
