Transport to get YOU to work & Training

Unfortunately at the moment Kickstart has a shortage of funding. We are only able to take on ‘gift’ clients and not currently taking on ‘loan’ clients. If you are interested in becoming a ‘gift’ client, please complete the application form and return to us. We hope to secure funding soon to enable us to take on loan clients again so you may wish to complete the application form and return it to us. We will inform you either way of our funding situation.

What is Kickstart?

Kickstart is a moped loan scheme that could help you get a job or     training place by loaning you a moped to get from your home in a rural area to work or college, and home again. You could also use it in your free time.

If you can prove to us that you have a real need for transport, we may be able to help you.

If you:-

  • Live in Suffolk
  • Are aged between 16 - 65
  • Have trouble accessing training, education or employment due to problems with transport then read on to find out more.

We offer two loan options to suit your own individual circumstances.

Option A The Gift

This option is tailored to those who are currently employed but are not able to afford the upfront costs associated with purchasing their own transport.

Successful applicants will be offered a moped loan for 14 weeks. Included in this will be:-
  • A new* or nearly new moped

  • Maintenance & repair
In return the user will provide:-

If all payments have been met, at the end of the 14 weeks as a reward, Kickstart will donate the moped to the user who will then become the owner.

Option B The Loan

This option is most suitable for those who are currently not employed but who are seeking training, education or employment but cannot access these due to difficulties with personal or public transport.
