	<description><![CDATA[ Suffolk ACRE president Lady Caroline Cranbook has been crowned Oldie Campaigner of the Year at a star-studded event in London.
She took her prize alongside actress Joanna Lumley who took the 2010 Oldie of the Year title for "relentless efforts and continuing campaigning for the Gurkhas".
Radio presenter Terry Wogan, Chris Mullin MP, illustrator Quentin Blake and author P D James also picked up awards.
Lady Cranbrook, president of Suffolk ACRE, was given a framed cartoon depicting all the winners, for her campaigns against "inappropriately large supermarkets in small market towns" and her work with Suffolk County Council and the Suffolk Development Agency ... ]]></description>

In Suffolk, we're launching 'Suffolk Open Weekend' to enable community groups, groups of individuals and parish or town councils across Suffolk to hold small cultural and sporting events to mark London 2012 Open Weekend. This is being supported by the Culture and Sport and Community Cohesion and Inclusion Delivery Partnerships.

In February 2008, the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government asked the Boundary Committee for England to advise on the structure of local government in Devon, Norfolk and Suffolk. This followed earlier proposals made to the Secretary of State by Exeter City Council, Norwich City Council and Ipswich Borough Council for unitary status on their existing boundaries.

	<description><![CDATA[ As we reach an exciting milestone in the Olympic countdown calendar, the Suffolk Culture and Sport Partnership is announcing a grant scheme to support 2012 Open Weekend events held in the run up to the Olympic and Paralympics in London.

On 31 October 2009, to mark 1000 days until the London Olympics, The Culture and Sport Partnership wants to encourage community groups as well as town and parish councils to apply for a grant of up to 500.
